The 2013 President’s Dinner

  New Ontario Location

We have exciting news! After an absence of 12 years, the CCAA Museum of Art is returning home to Ontario.

Recently the City of Ontario invited us to become part of their downtown Arts District – the Museum of History and Art, the Emporia Street work/live lofts, and galleries on Transit Street. Our new location will be in the historic Ontario Electric Company building on Lemon Street, just to the east of the Museum of History and Art.

The new space offers us other advantages besides being a part of the Ontario Arts District. We will be close to the revitalized downtown area, including the public park that the city plans to use for community events. We will have complete control over our hours of operation and how we use the interior space. The building grounds are fully landscaped and park-like, and one interior room includes a north facing clerestory that will flood the gallery space with perfect natural light for viewing artwork.

We see these benefits as a huge opportunity to continue our mission – sharing the gift of visual art – by expanding our community outreach. We will continue to exhibit our Permanent Collection, sponsor temporary exhibits featuring the work of local and regional artists, and highlight the work of our members as featured artists. We plan to provide classrooms for fine art instruction, artist demonstrations, art critiques, and evening lectures. We also see the possibility for holding community events outside during the summer months.

To prepare for this important next step, we will close in November 2012, with plans to re-open in late spring 2013. During this time we will reconfigure the interior space into galleries, museum store, administrative area and art storage
