Dead Cars: A New Life is an exhibit that displays the rusting relics of our collective past reborn into works of art. From weather-worn cars to gas pumps, artists Steven J. Mueller, Greg Gilbert, and Dan Romero show how beauty can be found in the simplest of geometric shapes. Using America’s movement to the western frontier in the last century as inspiration, these artists combine different mediums to give life to a past forgone and to the future it hoped to create.

Rusting relics of our collective past have been captured in dramatic resting places throughout the American Southwest (shown on front). Steven endeavors to bring you the most exotic images you might ever see of the big and the grand that once roamed the roads of the free world.

Greg Gilbert - Painter
For decades, Greg has been exploring, painting and photographing the vanishing West. He finds beauty in the bold, simple geometric shapes of weather-worn cars, trucks, gas pumps and other relics of American’s move west in the last century.

Dan Romero - Sculptor
Dan is a sculptural artist working in metal. His work includes commissioned public art, kinetic sculptures and garden art. On display at the CCAA Museum of Art will be Dan’s medium-sized, hands-on kinetic sculpture created specifically for this exhibit.
